I believe that a few of these were prepared in readiness for the 1937 Coronation that never took place - not for Edward, anyway - but this is the one I've just snapped up:

Didn't really know what this was - nor did the vendor, who thought it might be a recent issue - so I found another example at coinpeople. I've discovered the size of it now - 44 mm and 42 g - quite a hefty piece of metal. I think the fact that Edward was never crowned is, in an odd way, part of the appeal. Might make this a sideline of mine as I like the Edward VII and Alexandra double portrait very much.
