I have recently acquired this medal, it looks 19th Century but appears to depict one of the Early Edwards, i.e. Edward I. Any ideas? I can find no similar one.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,

Clive.

Nice medal. Do you know he significance of the punch on the reverse? Looks like a number 13 upside-down.

It is a style suggestive of Edward I with the Gothic arcs around his vignette, I am guessing this is very late 19th century or early 20th century and may have been part of a series of monarchs, say for a promotion or something. I have a 1908 Canadian medallion that is in similar form, with Samuel de Champlain on it and a similar type of metal content.

I was guessing late Victorian era on this one, some sort of commemorative medallion.

Cheers Dave, an interesting piece nonetheless.
